Macro Poverty Outlook for Europe and Central Asia


The Macro Poverty Outlook is jointly produced by the Poverty & Equity and Macroeconomics and Fiscal Management Global Practices of the World Bank. This semi-annual report, which analyses macro and poverty developments in developing countries, is released for the Spring and Annual Meetings of the World Bank and IMF.

Interactive Data Tool

This interactive tool provides a birds-eye view of major forecast variables and cross-country comparisons. Historical and forecast data for GDP, its major components, inflation, the current account, and the government deficit and debt can be displayed and compared across countries. All of the data is also available for download.


Country Analysis and Data

Macro Poverty Outlooks: Below are links to two page macro poverty outlooks (MPO) for each country in the Europe and Central Asia region. Each MPO provides an overview of recent macroeconomic and poverty developments; an outlook, including forecasts for major macroeconomic and poverty variables in 2018-20; and a brief discussion of critical challenges for economic growth, macro stability, and poverty reduction moving forward.

Data Sheets: Each data sheet provides a concise overview of recent country-specific developments and forecasts (where data permit) for a range of macroeconomic, monetary, fiscal, and social indicators.
